The Intermountain Regional Landfill is Utah’s newest disposal service partner. IRL is being developed to serve the residents of southern Salt Lake and northern Utah Counties.  The landfill is located just 25 miles west of I-15, within the Fairfield City limits, in the Cedar Valley.

IRL’s purpose is to meet the demands of the growing Wasatch Front communities, which are currently being serviced by landfills located nearly 100 miles away from Central Utah County. The inherent burden associated with hauling waste to such distant landfills is great:

Financial cost of long-haul delivery to landfills 100 miles away is too high
Devastating impact on the environment and already poor air quality is staggering

IRL will serve to negate the profound negative impact of using existing landfills, offering a fiscally prudent and responsible disposal alternative to the growing population of our state.
