The executive team of Intermountain Regional Landfill has extensive experience in all aspects of the waste disposal industry and business community, from project development to site management.
Rob Richards is the General Manager of IRL. As such, he leads all aspects of the company, including: corporate strategy; operations development, management and safety; strategic relationships; compliance; sales; and marketing. Rob is a highly-respected, leading figure in the waste industry in Utah, with over 14 years of experience. He is a founding partner of Metro Waste LLC, where he led the development of the successful commercial waste hauling company, two full-scale transfer station/recycling facilities, as well as the 500 acre Tekoi Landfill. Rob later acted as a District Manager for Waste Management in Utah County. He is a graduate of both the University of Utah and Brigham Young University. Rob resides in Utah County with his wife, Stephanie, and their four children.
Director of Strategic Planning & Business Development
Jonathan Slager is the Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development for IRL. He is responsible for the general direction of the company, with specific stewardship over the strategic development of the organization and finance department. Jonathan is also the Director of Asset Acquisitions at the Roc Fund, a private equity firm, where he is a Principal Operating Partner, and Manager of various real estate partnerships and funds. He has had an illustrious, 27-year career in the finance world, in which he has identified and negotiated joint ventures and strategic relationships, conducted due diligence, developed investment capital, and led acquisition efforts, among other activities. Jonathan is also an entrepreneur; he is the President and Co-founder of Mobile Lifestyles, Inc., an internet-based, mobile content provider. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa Cum Laude from the University of Utah, and holds an MBA from New York University. Jonathan lives with his wife in Salt Lake City, and has two grown children.
